2018: A new chapter for Picture Book Films

2018: A new chapter for Picture Book Films

With winter gladly behind us, 2018 is already shaping up to be an exciting year at Picture Book Films. After last years success, we were eager to maintain that momentum to make sure that our brand becomes stronger and we offer the best possible service to our clients.

As we continue to take on new business - in addition to our committed work with our much valued, returning clients - we felt it was important to ensure that our relationships aren’t diluted by our expansion.  For this reason, we have decided its the right time to add to our permanent in-house staff. As of January 2018, Ash Taylor officially joined the team full time. Having worked with the company for approximately 18 months on a freelance basis, we know Ash is a multi-skilled filmmaker and will be an asset for the company and our clients moving forward. He is already familiar with the business and has slotted into the team with ease. (Find out more about our new team member here)

However, adding to our team made the office a little too cosy so we have also moved into a larger space to facilitate our growth. And we aren’t just growing in size but also ambition. We are targeting our best year to date and already have planned work with over 15 clients in four different countries.

But thats not to say we have lost sight of our roots either. We are indefinitely committed to establishing and developing relationships with Sussex based organisations for the betterment of the local community. Over the next few months, we have some exciting films in the pipeline that will showcase the amazing contribution to our community by some great local people and organisations.

In fact, we are engaging in more charitable work than ever before as well as continuing to work with the Institute of Business Ethics to constantly evolve and improve our approach and outlook. In addition, we are hoping to also begin offering selective work experience placements to aspiring student filmmakers. It is our hope to inspire local young people in pursuing creative careers in order to solidify Brighton’s place as one of the country’s most innovative digital cities for years to come.

We believe strongly in doing our bit for the next generation of our industry but to do so we also have to stay up to date with new technologies and practices. Therefore, we have also invested in a brand new editing suite to ensure that our output is always of the highest standard. This includes state-of-the-art hardware as well as a creative software suite that caters for almost any multimedia application. And the investment doesn’t stop there. We have our eyes on some new cutting-edge equipment that we hope to unveil to you in the coming months. We will also be engaging with more training to ensure we remain at the top of our field and are offering clients a premium professional service.

Despite all the improvements currently afoot here at Picture Book Films, there will always be some things that won’t change. We are still as committed as ever to offering broadcast quality content for businesses of all sizes with an ethical and conscientious approach.
